Biography
Masuad Ghulam is the principal and founder of Ghulam Law, a San Diego–based firm established in early 2022. Born in Afghanistan, Masuad came to the United States with his family at the age of two. From an early age, he was known for his curiosity, quick wit, and confidence. He was rarely content with surface-level answers, preferring to understand how things worked and why. Whether making people laugh or speaking his mind, he naturally connected with others and was never afraid to challenge conventional thinking. Those qualities—combined with a natural inclination to analyze problems and persuade others—ultimately shaped the lawyer he would become.
Masuad graduated from the University of California, Irvine with dual degrees in Sociology and Political Science, along with a minor in Biology. His education continues to shape the way he approaches legal problems, combining analytical reasoning with an understanding of human behavior and complex systems. After earning his Juris Doctor and being admitted to the State Bar of California, he built a career grounded in delivering justice—focused on outcomes, not just representation.
Masuad launched his practice in December 2021, just months after the Taliban returned to power. While global attention focused overseas, he represented Afghan asylum seekers in U.S. courtrooms and before the Department of Homeland Security. These early cases were high-stakes—where a single error could mean the difference between safety and return to danger. Entrusted with life-changing matters at the outset of his career, he developed the precision, judgment, and composure required to navigate high-pressure cases.
As his practice has evolved, so too has the complexity of the matters he handles. Today, Masuad advises and represents individuals and businesses in sophisticated civil disputes, often against well-resourced corporations, financial institutions, and governmental entities. Whatever the forum, his approach remains constant: master the facts, command the law, anticipate the opposition, and advocate with precision.
