Biography
Masuad Ghulam is the founder and principal of Ghulam Law in San Diego, California. He advises and represents clients in immigration law, criminal defense, family law, and complex civil litigation, with a focused emphasis on contract, property, and business matters.
Born in Afghanistan during the Soviet invasion, Masuad came to the United States after his family was forced to flee their home. Rebuilding life in the United States shaped his understanding of how quickly security can disappear and guides his approach to clients who often believe they have no options left. He works closely with each client to uncover their story, rebuild their case, and help them move forward with clarity and confidence. In many ways, Masuad loves a great comeback story—because his life has been one.
He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with dual degrees in sociology and political science with a minor in biology, a combination that reflects his strength across multiple disciplines. His interdisciplinary training gives him the analytical depth to practice effectively in a wide range of legal fields. After completing law school and passing the California bar exam, he built a career committed to fairness, due process, and strategic, thoughtful advocacy.
Masuad began practicing in December 2021 just a few months after the Taliban returned to power. While global attention focused on the crisis abroad, he was in U.S. courtrooms and Department of Homeland Security interview rooms advocating for Afghans seeking asylum. Those early cases defined his professional path and demonstrated his ability to manage intense pressure where a single mistake could determine whether they remained safe or were sent back into danger.
Today, he represents clients in a range of significant and complex civil matters involving financial disputes, property concerns, and government-related actions. His practice centers on helping individuals and businesses navigate complex conflicts, interpret challenging legal and administrative processes, and pursue fair outcomes when their rights or investments are at risk.
